Sam's Moving Company

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: By booking a move or using the services of Sam's Moving Company ("The Company"), you ("The Client") agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. These terms govern the relationship between the Company and the Client for all residential and commercial moving services.

1. ESTIMATES AND QUOTES

Estimates provided via our website or phone are based on the information provided by the Client. Final charges may vary based on the actual volume of goods, specialized handling requirements, or changes in the scope of work. Flat rates are only guaranteed when a written agreement is signed following a detailed inventory assessment.

2. CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING

We understand that plans change. However, to maintain our schedule, we require at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. During peak periods (end of month), longer notice may be required.

3. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

To ensure a safe and efficient move, the Client is responsible for:

Ensuring all items are packed securely unless "Packing Services" have been specifically booked.
Providing clear access to both the pick-up and delivery locations (e.g., cleared walkways, elevator bookings).
Disclosing any high-value items (over $500) or hazardous materials prior to the move date.
Supervising the move and performing a final walkthrough to ensure no items are left behind.

4. SPECIALTY ITEMS

Items such as pianos, gun safes, large artwork, and heavy electronics require specialized equipment and training. These must be disclosed at the time of booking. Failure to disclose these items may result in our inability to move them on the scheduled day or additional heavy-item surcharges.

5. LIABILITY AND INSURANCE

Sam's Moving Company is fully licensed and insured. Our standard liability for loss or damage is limited to a released value of $0.60 per pound per article. The Client may opt for "Full Value Protection" at an additional cost, which must be agreed upon in writing prior to the commencement of the move.

Exclusions: We are not liable for the internal mechanical functions of electronics, items packed by the owner (PBO), or damages caused by inherent vice (pre-existing structural weaknesses in furniture like particle board/IKEA-style furniture).

6. PAYMENT TERMS

Payment is due in full upon completion of the move unless otherwise agreed upon in writing for commercial accounts. We accept major credit cards, e-transfers, and cash. The Company reserves the right to withhold delivery of goods (lien) until payment for services is rendered.

7. CLAIMS

All claims for damage or loss must be submitted in writing within 7 days of the move date. Photographs of the damaged item and the surrounding area at the time of the move are highly recommended to expedite the process.
